Essential consumables for the traps to function

HexaTrap mosquito traps use consumables that must be replaced regularly to ensure they work properly. HexaTrap refills contain all the components needed for these traps to function correctly.

Regular replacement of these consumables is therefore essential to ensure the trap remains effective throughout the season.

The attractant gel: luring mosquitoes into the trap

The HexaTrap attractant gel mimics certain signals associated with human presence in order to attract mosquitoes to the trap.

When placed in the device, the refill gradually releases scent compounds that guide mosquitoes towards the trap and increase the chances of capture.

Each syringe contains three doses of attractant gel, sufficient for approximately three months’ use.

Adhesive sheets: capturing mosquitoes

HexaTrap adhesive sheets capture mosquitoes once they have entered the trap.

Placed in the glass section of the device, they intercept mosquitoes attempting to escape, thereby ensuring they are captured. To maintain the device’s effectiveness, it is recommended that the adhesive sheets be replaced every two weeks.

CO₂ cylinders: enhancing the trap’s attractiveness

HexaTrap CO₂ cylinders are designed for use with the HexaTrap CO₂ Capture trap.

Carbon dioxide is one of the main signals used by mosquitoes to detect the presence of a host. By releasing CO₂ around the trap, the HexaTrap CO₂ Capture mimics human breathing and attracts mosquitoes from further afield.

Easy to install, the CO₂ cylinders screw directly onto the trap and allow for continuous or scheduled CO₂ release via the mobile app. One cylinder lasts for approximately 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the settings chosen and the frequency of use.

To maintain the trap’s performance throughout the season, it is recommended that you always keep spare CO₂ cylinders on hand to ensure uninterrupted diffusion.
