How does the HexaCatch trap work?
Female mosquitoes naturally look for stagnant water to lay their eggs.
HexaCatch recreates an attractive breeding site: fill the trap with water and add dead leaves.
Attracted by this environment, mosquitoes enter the trap and remain captured on the adhesive sheet.
Where should I install HexaCatch?
You can place HexaCatch in strategic locations such as near water, woodland or a vegetable garden. These are effective locations that are rarely suitable for electrical devices when no power supply is nearby. Depending on your garden layout, you can install several HexaCatch traps to increase captures and reduce the population during the summer season.
How often should I replace the sheets?
Each adhesive sheet is effective for around two weeks. Replace it regularly to maintain optimum capture.
To reproduce, female mosquitoes seek out areas of standing water in which to lay their eggs.
The HexaCatch trap exploits this natural behaviour by replicating an environment that attracts mosquitoes to lay their eggs. Mosquitoes that approach the trap enter it and become trapped on the adhesive sheet.
By intercepting the females at this crucial stage in their life cycle, it becomes possible to limit reproduction and gradually reduce the mosquito population around your home.
1 female caught = up to 1,000 fewer mosquitoes!
The HexaCatch works without electricity or insecticide.
It works solely by attracting mosquitoes to the laying site and trapping them mechanically using the adhesive surface.
This simplicity makes it easy to set up the trap in different areas of the garden.
The HexaCatch trap has been designed to blend in easily with outdoor spaces.
Its discreet design means it can be placed near areas where mosquitoes breed without spoiling the garden’s appearance.
Hexa’s strategy is based on an understanding of mosquito behaviour.
Whilst HexaTrap traps attract mosquitoes as they seek to bite, the HexaCatch acts at a different stage: the breeding phase.
By combining several traps from the range, it becomes possible to target different stages of the mosquito’s life cycle.
The HexaCatch can be used on its own or alongside a HexaTrap or HexaTrap CO₂ trap installed in the garden.
Whilst HexaTrap traps capture mosquitoes attracted by human presence, the HexaCatch targets females looking for a place to lay their eggs.
Together, these traps help to permanently reduce the number of mosquitoes around your home.
