How often should I replace the attractant gel refill?

The syringe contains 30 g of attractant gel, i.e. 10 g per month.

How do I measure the gel using the syringe?

Each syringe contains 30 grams of active gel. The recommended dose is 10 grams per month. Simply use the graduated ring on the syringe plunger: adjust it to dispense the exact dose into your trap’s reservoir. One syringe therefore guarantees 3 months of continuous protection.

Why use a gel rather than a tablet or strip?

Hexa gel, made in France (certified “Origine France Garantie”), is a major technological advance. A dry tablet releases its scent very strongly during the first few days, then loses effectiveness very quickly. Our gel’s texture enables slow, steady and completely even release of the active substance throughout the full 30 days.

Does the gel attract bees or other beneficial insects?

No. Unlike conventional light traps or sugar traps, our gel’s chemical formula (lactic acid + octenol) mimics only human sweat and skin. It targets only blood-feeding insects, such as tiger mosquitoes (Aedes) and common mosquitoes (Culex). Bees and butterflies will completely ignore it.
